Destination details
Giri Putri Temple
Giri Putri Temple is located inside a cave on a hillside and is dedicated to Shiva. It can be reached in around 30 minutes from Toyapakeh. After renting a sarong, visitors climb around fifty steps to reach the large cave. Inside, there are several shrines and purification areas, with a small staircase leading to a higher section.
Puncak Mundi Temple
Puncak Mundi Temple is located at the top of Mundi Hill, around 521 meters above sea level. The temple is an important Tirta Yatra destination for Hindus before continuing to Dalem Ped Temple. It consists of three temple areas and features a unique padmasana with decorative carvings. Many wild monkeys can also be found around the area, so visitors should keep an eye on their belongings.
Paluang Temple
Paluang Temple, also known as the “Car Temple,” is famous for its unique VW car-shaped shrine. Located near Paluang Cliff, the temple features a distinctive interpretation of Hindu architecture. Officially known as Karang Dawa Temple, it holds important spiritual meaning for the local community, so visitors are expected to dress and behave respectfully.
Dalem Ped Temple
Dalem Ped Temple is located in Ped Village, Nusa Penida, and is widely known as an important spiritual destination. On certain holy days, many Hindu devotees visit the temple to pray. The complex consists of four main temple areas, including Segara Temple, which is dedicated to Batara Baruna, the ruler of the sea, and is located close to the beach.
